MR1: Challenges on postgraduate programs in statistics: how to adapt to the needs of both academic and non-academic job markets

Abstract: The goal of this roundtable is to promote a discussion about the current and future situation of Brazilian postgraduate programs in statistics from the perspective of both academic and non-academic job markets. In particular, reflections will be made about changes that could make these programs more attractive and useful for young bachelor's degree holders. The roundtable will include both young and experienced academics and non-academics.

 

 

MR2: ISISession: Expanding the Frontiers of Statistical Practice

Abstract: The aim of the panel is to discuss the areas of application, barriers and opportunities for expanding Statistical Practice over the next 10-15 years, considering also the problems that may drive the development of new models, methods and ideas in Statistical Methodology.

MR3: Painel - Statistical Education:  actions and teaching practices on the Basic and Undergraduate Education

Abstract: The purpose of this roundtable is to promote a discussion about the teaching of Probability and Statistics, on the Basic and Undergraduate Education. Actions and researchs that have been developed on the Statistics Education will be presented.  Specifically, experiences implemented in the undergraduation classroom . The roundtable will be attended by professors who innovate in their teaching practices, members of national and international entities.
